For over 20 years I have wrangled disparate data sets into easy to read and visually appealing graphics for print and digital formats. As graphics director of PC Magazine for 12 years, I helped a technologically savvy readership understand everything from how the new crop of processors worked to where the best broadband in the country was. As a freelance graphics editor at Fortune I have wrestled with rough drafts of stories to extract infographic opportunities, some resulting in graphics I am very proud of. I continue to look for new challenges and projects to help me expand my visual vocabulary and help enlighten readers about various subjects in an approachable graphic form.

I was responsible for coordinating all infographic elements of the magazine, collaborating directly with Art, Edit and Labs to help explain everything from PC performance to how much radiation a CRT emits. Became an Adobe power user as well as Microsoft Office and Deltagraph (charting package)...created everything from bar/scatter/fever charts to complex diagrams of chipset architecture and new battery technology.

I was a freelance designer as part of a 4 person graphics team. Handled all charts, maps, diagrams, spot illustration, occasionally called upon to create large illustrations, including one for a cover image. Also handled online illustrated slideshows which received a lot of traffic.

Freelance Graphic Editor
Brought on board to wrangle all data and exploit all editorial content for graphic opportunities. Responsible for creating in-house infographics for print and tablet as well as the farming out and overseeing of outside illustrators on larger projects. Also helped revamp the production approach on the massive Fortune 500 print and tablet editions.
